Meet the Trainer
Billy Wayne Blackstock has been riding and training horses since he was 11. Married to Randi Blackstock since 2011, he has spent his life growing his knowledge in training methods for various equine disciplines. Along with his two children, Blane and Mattie, the family is focused on keeping happy healthy horses.
Beginnings
Passion for horses and horsemanship has been the driving factor behind creating Blackstock Cow Ponies. Billy Wayne's goal is to create safe, sound, sane horses from the hoof up to the brain. Life is to short to not ride a good horse! Billy Wayne enjoys competing in Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, Ranch Cutting, Reining, Working Cowhorse, Team Roping, and Ranch Rodeo events. Billy Wayne has background in ranching, feedyards, cow/calf operations, wheat pasture cattle care, and raising quality ranch horses from Zans Revolution, the herd sire.
Philosophy
Billy Wayne believes that no matter the riding specialty, every horse should have a basic knowledge of body control and collection to be successful. The goal is to create an equine partner who is confident, willing, and gentle. He can tend to training and farrier needs, please reach out with any questions!
